Uniting Powers Merge of the Association of Transport Workers’ Councils (KMSZ) and the Association of Transport Workers’ Labour Unions (KDSZSZ)
The two trade unions decided to merge in order to enhance their interest representation activity by increasing their effectiveness and by gaining a wider mandate from the higher number of members.
The trade union confederation affiliating the member organisations of KDSZSZ and KMSZ cover the whole country. The newly formed organisation, the Federation of Transport Workers’ Trade Unions that brings together almost 20 member unions will join the National Confederation of Workers’ Councils.
The confederation has asked the support and active involvement of the members so that they will be able to achieve their common objectives. Indeed, the trust and support of the members will be necessary to be able to overcome the difficulties facing the Volán companies in the transport sector.
The process promotes and strengthens the role of interest representation. This is also a reason why the two trade unions decided to join together.
